While not earning cash, earning vouchers is a great way to spend at the websites and shops that you normally purchase from anyway. HideOut TV is an online site that pays you in vouchers as you watch some of their video content (and adverts which is how they pay you). Think of it like an independent YouTube but you get cash (vouchers) for watching the videos!
What do you need?
First things first, you need to sign up for a HideOut TV account (this is an affiliate link). It does not cost you anything to sign up – it is totally free.
Once you’ve signed up simply activate your account by confirming your email and you are ready to start earning some cash (or vouchers in this case).
What content is on the site?
There’s actually loads of content on HideOut TV as can be see in the image below. Like TV channels the content is split between a number of different channels/sites so if you want to view programs about cooking Meal Ninja is the channel you should check out, want to check out Games then GamerSpot is for you. This makes it super easy to watch the content that you want.
How much can I earn?
You certainly aren’t going to get rich by watching videos. This is simply going to give you a bit of passive income. The amount you earn per video depends how long the video is and how many adverts you watch so it can vary significantly. I estimate that you will probably earn about 100 points an hour and 1000 points = $1.
For those of us in the UK it’s worth noting that HideOut TV pays in UK vouchers as well so you aren’t stuck with vouchers in US $ that you can’t spend!
What vouchers are available?
Vouchers are available from Amazon, Nike, Tesco, Uber and Zalando so if you use these vouchers regularly this is a great way to earn some money.
It’s worth reiterating that HideOut TV pays in US $ (1000 points for $1) so there is an exchange conversion that is worked out for how many points you need for a £10 voucher if you are from the UK. For example the exchange rate listed on 28/8/21 was $1 = £0.771 which meant a £10 Tesco voucher cost 14916 points.
Is it worth doing?
If you watch this type of content regularly anyway then why not get paid for it? You aren’t going to earn loads of money from it however but as a bit of a supplement it isn’t bad.
The catch for some may be the fact that the pay-out is in vouchers, while there are a few great options here it would be nice for a few more.
