Earn crypto currency (BAT coin) for changing your browser.
It’s not going to make you a millionaire but it can net you some extra cash by earning BAT tokens from a few pop up adverts every now again. I don’t find them obtrusive at all – they are very small and you can simply click off them if they aren’t applicable but will disappear after a few seconds anyway.
It is now the browser that I use and I’m pretty impressed with it. It’s build on Chromium so will do most of the things that Chrome will and comes with a built in ad blocker.
How do I get it?
Head over to https://brave.com/ and download the browser and follow the instructions.
To claim the BAT tokens and (withdraw them to cash) you will need an account with Uphold (affiliate link).
What is Uphold?
Uphold is the secure wallet where you will hold your BAT tokens until you decide what you want to do with them. Uphold allows you to exchange your BAT tokens for other crypto currencies, cash out to your bank account or exchange for metals (like Gold).
As the account is holding your finances and your details, it’s important to keep your account safe and secure just like you would with any online bank account. Make sure you choose a strong password and setup 2 factor authentication.
Like any financial company, be prepared to submit photos of driving licenses / passport and bank details in order to withdraw any earned cash.

How much can I earn?
Earning BAT via the Brave browser isn’t going to make you rich, but it is a great way to earn a little bit of passive income from something that you do and use anyway. If you haven’t used crypto before and are crypto curious, it’s a great way to get into crypto without any investment and allows you to dip your toe in.
The amount of BAT you get paid out depends on how many adverts you see and it also will depend on the value of BAT at the time. For example in the time I have used Brave my pay-outs have varied between about 20 BAT tokens a month to about 2 BAT tokens a month – it all depends.
Is it worth doing?
Yes! There is a bit of work for you to do to setup your wallet with Uphold and transferring your bookmarks across (which Brave will mostly do for you) but I’ve found it to be a great browser and Uphold to be a great Crypto Wallet. The Brave shield means I barely see any adverts anymore and only really see the Brave ones that pop up every now and then.
I’m glad I made the switch and I’m happy that I get paid for doing what I was normally doing anyway.
