PopulusLive review 2021

What is PopulusLive?

PopulusLive is a survey site that pays you in points for doing surveys. 1 point = £1 and when you reach 50 points you can cash out £50 via BACS or via good old fashioned cheque (seriously though … it’s 2021!).

First impressions

An easy and straightforward sign up process that gave me access to an initial survey that earned me 3 points. Great I thought! Unfortunately, the surveys, though well paid, did not come thick and fast and as it is a popular survey site often by the time I got to some surveys they had expired. A real shame as the site has such huge potential and is one of the top paying sites for surveys (if you can get onto one!)

How does the site pay out?

The site pays you in points. 1 point = 1 pound and when you get to 50 points, it can pay you via BACS or via cheque. It’s a very no nonsense approach though I’m still bemused at anyone using cheques in 2021!

What are the surveys like?

The surveys again come in a large range, from marketing companies wanting to know what you think of products to academic researchers wanting participants to answer questions for research.

Unlike most sites which have an online board for surveys PopulusLive only sends you emails when a study is available. You can’t just log on to the portal to find them. This, in my opinion, is one of the downsides as it depends on when you receive or look at your emails and sometimes this can be too late to get into the study.

Conclusion

I like PopulusLive, I really do. It’s the highest paying survey site but there are a number of issues – sporadic surveys, a very high cash out amount and no website to look at open surveys.

Despite it’s flaws I’d still recommend checking it out and keeping it as part of your arsenal to earn more cash as when the surveys do come in you can make some decent money – just don’t rely on it too much as it might be stuck for a while until you can cash out!
